‘Sorrow and Strength’: Benjamin Netanyahu’s Dual Message to India After Tragedy

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a dual message of “sorrow and strength” to India following a tragic explosion in Delhi that killed at least eight people. The message, addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed both condolences and resolute solidarity.

“To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India… Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time,” Netanyahu stated. He and his wife, Sara, sent their “deepest condolences” to the families grieving the loss of their loved ones.

Netanyahu also delivered a powerful message of defiance against terror. He highlighted the “unyielding spirit” of both India and Israel, which he called “ancient civilisations.” He declared, “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls.”

The Prime Minister’s message joins a growing chorus of global support for India. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also offered condolences, wishing a “speedy recovery to the wounded” and affirming that “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror.”

The blast, which occurred on Monday near the Red Fort, is now the subject of a major anti-terror investigation. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the case and is probing a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad module for carrying out the car bomb attack.
