Vietnamese leader Tô Lâm emphasized the robust connection between the two nations, pointing out that Côte d’Ivoire became Vietnam’s largest trading partner in Africa in 2025. He advocated for increased collaboration and a diversification of trade beyond traditional commodities like cashew nuts and rice.
The Vietnamese government is encouraging joint ventures in multiple sectors, including agriculture, telecommunications, oil and gas, digital transformation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, mineral processing, and electric vehicles. These areas are seen as promising fields for mutual growth and development, offering new opportunities for both countries to benefit economically and technologically.
Côte d’Ivoire, on its part, has shown enthusiasm in attracting Vietnamese enterprises and expanding collaborative efforts throughout the West African region. This interest highlights Côte d’Ivoire’s strategic vision to deepen its economic ties with Vietnam, leveraging the expertise and investment capabilities that Vietnamese businesses can bring to the region.
In addition to economic endeavors, the two countries are committed to enhancing parliamentary exchanges, fostering educational opportunities, and advancing workforce development. They also aim to strengthen people-to-people connections, which are crucial for cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
