Qatar Chamber’s First Vice Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, recently engaged in discussions with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, at the chamber’s Lusail headquarters, focusing on enhancing the economic and trade ties between the two nations. Their talks aimed at fostering cooperation between private sector companies from Qatar and Vietnam, delving into new investment prospects and pinpointing sectors where future collaborations could thrive.

Al Kuwari expressed the chamber’s commitment to bolstering partnerships and joint investment projects between businesses from both countries, while also commending Vietnam for its robust economic growth. This sentiment was echoed by Ambassador Hiep, who underscored Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic relations with Qatar. He revealed that bilateral trade reached over $860 million in 2024, reflecting a $100 million increase from the previous year.

The ambassador urged Qatari investors to consider opportunities within Vietnam, particularly in the fields of agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He also highlighted the significant role Qatar Chamber could play in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods in the Qatari market, potentially opening new avenues for trade between the two economies.

Additionally, Ambassador Hiep extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. Scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September, this annual expo is a prominent global trade event that focuses on sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation. It attracts international companies and industry leaders across diverse sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
