The 14th Party Central Committee of Vietnam commenced its third meeting in Hà Nội, guided by the leadership of Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm. Spanning five days, this session is dedicated to advancing the resolutions set forth by the 14th National Party Congress, with a focus on enhancing Party governance, reforming the political framework, and driving national development forward.
This crucial meeting involves a comprehensive review of 13 significant policy areas. Among these are improvements in State governance and reforms to land laws, alongside economic restructuring and fostering growth through technological advancements. The agenda also includes discussions on environmental protection and strategies to bolster national security. An evaluation of the new political system’s effectiveness is underway, as is an examination of the two-tier local administration model. Notably, there are also proposals on the table to elevate Quảng Ninh and Bắc Ninh to the status of centrally governed cities.
In his address, Tô Lâm urged for decisions that are both practical and action-oriented, aimed at dismantling obstacles to development and unlocking the nation’s resources. He stressed the importance of enhancing public services through these measures. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity for resolutions to be swiftly converted into actionable plans, complete with defined responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
